Assistant District Attorney Shane Scanlon spoke at the recent meeting of the Mayfield Crime Watch, alerting attendees to the ongoing struggle between local police officials and drug dealers in Lackawanna County. Scanlon cautioned that drug activity is no longer restricted to any one geographic area but is pandemic in Lackawanna County. Scanlon advised residents to be alert and vigilant (report unusual traffic and activity in your neighborhood); lock doors, use discretion (for example, don't talk about drugs and money in public) and get rid of old prescriptions.
