‘Lock In’ at the YMCA

The Greater Carbondale YMCA is hosting a “Lock In” for youth in grades five through seven beginning Monday, Dec. 30, at 9 p.m. and ending Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 8 a.m. A full night of activities is planned, including a scavenger hunt, a triathlon, a dance off, volleyball, food and a 300-dodgeball drop at midnight. The cost is $30 per person.

DAV Meeting

The Midvalley Chapter 11 of the Disabled American Veterans will conduct its monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. in the chapter house, 516 Storrs St., Dickson City. Commander Manuel Griffin will preside. the board of directors will meet at 6 p.m.

Archbald Holiday Trash/Recycling Schedule

Trash pickup scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 1, will be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Recycling collection will be one day late for the entire borough beginning on Jan. 2.

Dog Licenses in Mayfield

In Mayfield Borough, 2014 Lackawanna County dog licenses will be available for purchase Wednesday, Jan. 8, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the borough building, 739 Penn Ave. If you cannot be there that day, you can apply prior to that day, pay for the tag with the exact amoung and return later to obtain the license. The cost is $8.45; $6.45 if the dog is spayed/neutered. For senior citizens the cost is $6.45; $4.45 if the dog is spayed/neutered. All dogs three months and older must be licensed.
