A Mayfield Crime Watch meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. (a new time) in the Mayfield Borough Building on Penn Avenue. Detective Vince Butkiewicz will be bringing along his partner “Riggs” for a demonstration. Riggs, a Labrador retriever, is the Lackawanna County drug dog who has recently helped the Drug Task Force on many of its successes.
Valley Blood Council of the American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 23, noon to 5 p.m. at Wozniak-Pavloski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7963, 284 Main St. in Eynon. Christ the King Parish is also a sponsor. Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds. This drive is in memory of all Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Archbald High School class of 1967 will meet on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Wildcat Saloon to discuss plans for its 50th class reunion. All classmates are invited to attend.
The Throop Neighborhood Watch will meet Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Throop Civic Center. New members are welcome.
The First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, 20 N.
