YMCA Youth Dance
The Greater Carbondale YMCA, 82 N. Main St., Carbondale, will hold a youth dance for students in grades four through six Saturday, March 6, 7:30-10 p.m. in the Main Street building. Admission is $4. Students must have a completed admission form and parents/guardians must be present when dropping off and picking up children. Jewelry Sale

Blankets For Veterans
The Blankets for Veterans group will meet Monday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Valley Community Library, 739 River St. Peckville. The library is displaying blankets the group has made. The display will be up until the middle of March, then the blankets will be delivered to the Merli Center. Anyone who crochets, knits or quilts is welcome to share their skills. Lap blankets typically range in sizes from 45x55 to 45x45 inches (no fringe, please). Crafters are encouraged to attend the bi-monthly meetings for 90 minutes of sharing tips and conversation with fellow crafters, however attendance is not required. Lap blankets can also be worked at home, and finished blankets and any yarn donations, may be dropped off at the library. Call 587-5087 for more information.

Over 50 Club
The Over 50 Club of Mayfield will meet Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at Ponderosa Hotel, 719 Pine St., Mayfield. Bingo, a Chinese auction. New members are welcome.

Crime Watch
Jessup Neighborhood Crime Watch will meet Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. at the Jessup Borough Building, 395 Lane St., Jessup.

Legion Meeting
American Legion Post No. 665, 901 Main St., Dickson City, will meet Wednesday, March 10. The board of direcotrs will meet at 1 p.m., with post members convening at 2 p.m.

Dickson Days Meeting
A Dickson Days reorganization meeting will be held Wednesday, March 10. at 6:30 p.m. at the Dickson City Civic Center, 935 Albert St. Anyone interested in becoming a part of this program is asked to attend. Call 383-1813 for more information.   

21st Century Assn.
The Jessup 21st Century Association will meet Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at Jessup Borough Building, 395 Lane St., Jessup. Plans for 2010 events will be discussed. Genie Lupini will preside.

Lenten Food Sale
All Saints Orthodox Church, 211 Willow Ave., Olyphant will hold a Lenten food sale Friday, March 12, noon to 6 p.m. in the church hall. Pierogies (by the dozen, frozen or prepared with butter and onions), as well as cabbage and noodles, pagach and clam chowder will be available. Call 383-0785 or 876-4123 to order. Benefit Dinner
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of the Valley will host a rigatoni and meatball dinner on Sunday, March 14, noon to 3 p.m. at Madonna Hall, 605 Church St., Jessup. Tickets are $8. Menu includes rigatoni, meatballs, salad, bread and choice of dessert. Takeout available. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and luminaria bags for sale. Call 562-9749 or 489-3861 for tickets. All proceeds benefit the Relay for Life of the Valley event.

Fire Co. Dinner
Olyphant Hose Co. No. 2, 113 Willow Ave. Rear, Olyphant, will hold its annual takeout-only ham and cabbage dinner Sunday, March 14, noon to 4 p.m. at the company headquarters. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased from any member or by calling 489-3473.

SAL Meetings
The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) District 11 will meet Sunday, March 14, at 1 p.m. at American Legion Post No. 665, 901 Main St., Dickson City. All SAL members are welcome to attend. District commander Joseph Faltynowicz will preside. Sons of the American Legion Squadron 665 will hold its monthly meeting on the same day at 2:30 p.m. at the post home. Any member who has not picked up their raffle tickets should do so before March 21. All returns must be in by April 11. The drawing will be that day after the meeting.

Library Events
At the Carbondale Public Library, 5 N. Main St., Carbondale:
• St. Patrick’s Day celebration, Monday, March 15, 6:30 p.m.: St. Patrick’s Day stories, games and crafts. For ages 3-9.
• St. Patrick’s Day “make-and-take” craft: March 15-19: Drop by the library anytime to make a shamrock craft to take home or take a kit home and make it there; for ages 3-12.
• Dragon storytime: Saturday, March 20, 11 a.m.: Stories, songs and fingerplays, group games and crafts all about dragons; for ages 3-7.

Legion Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of Raymond Henry American Legion Post 327, 101 Willow St., Olyphant, will be Monday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at the post home.

Garden Club
The Mountain View Garden Club will meet Tuesday, March 16, at the Clifford Township Fire Hall, Route 106, Clifford, at 7 p.m. Representatives from the LeRaysville Cheese Factory in Bradford County will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.

‘Saving Grace’
Peckville resident Grace King is battling pancreatic cancer, and her friends and coworkers are planning a fundraiser for her Sunday, March 21, 1-7 p.m. at The Banshee, 320 Penn Ave., Scranton. Admission is $10. The evening will include food, live bands, a cash bar, a 50/50 drawing and a basket raffle. Tickets will be available at the door. Bands slated to perform include Double Cross, The Wanabees, Cameron Ave. Band, Indigo and Maybe Someday. Old Forge Bank at 540 Main St., Peckville, is accepting financial contributions for the “Saving Grace” project.

Flower Sale
The Mid Valley Rotary Club is now holding its Easter flower sale. Single-bloom lilies, a 6-inch pot of tulips (yellow, pink, red, purple and orange) or a 6-inch pot of hyacinths (blue, white or pink) are $10. An 8-inch Dutch garden pan is $15. All proceeds to benefit the Mid Valley Rotary Club’s community projects.

Fire Co. Lottery
Members of the Browndale Fire Co. are now selling April lottery tickets. Tickets are $10 and are good for the entire month of April. They are based on the PA Lottery noon daily number. Winning numbers drawn Monday through Friday will win $50. Winning numbers drawn on a Saturday or Sunday will win $125. On Easter Sunday, if your number is drawn, you will win $250.
