A country music artist from Lackawanna County has been nominated for several music awards and was once again tapped to perform in Nashville, Tennessee. 21-year-old Jermyn native Dani-elle Kleha received nominations for the 2017 Josie Music Awards in the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year for her single “Joke’s On You” and Female Artist of the Year, which she won for the second straight year. She also performed at the award ceremony.
The show’s nominations, awards and performances were selected by an anonymous panel of music industry experts.
“To be included in some of the bigger categories with some other extremely talented artists is just something that words cannot even describe,” said Kleha.
Kleha also won the event’s “Rising Artist” award in 2015. Last month, she appeared in Nashville during the city’s CMA Fest and met with fans as a “2017 CMA Emerging Artist.”
“I met thousands of country music fans from all around the world,” she said. “Getting to meet people in person who have followed me on social media, requested my music and are already a huge part of my journey, was one of the coolest experiences that I have ever had.”
Dani-elle also performed several times during the festival, at Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge, The Listening Room, The Blue Bar and as part of the annual Daring Divas showcase on the roof of Nashville’s Fifth Third Center.
In recent years, Kleha has appeared at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton as a pre-opening act for Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean and Thousand Horses.
