Here’s a rundown of the upcoming eerie events:
The Dickson City Civic Center, 935 Albert St., will hold a dance for kids in grades three to six Friday, Oct. 25, 7-9 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for costumes.
A Halloween dance and costume party will be held at the center for kids in kindergarten to grade two Saturday, Oct. 26, noon to 2 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 10:30 to noon, the regular Toddler Time class at the center will throw a Halloween party.
On Thursday, Oct. 31, the annual “Make the Dickson City Civic Center Open House Your Last Stop on Halloween” night will run 6-9 p.m. and all ages are welcome to partake of refreshments, a Halloween movie and treats. Admission is free. For more information on these events, call 570-383-1813.
Blakely Borough will hold its annual halloween parade and party for kids Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to noon at Blakely Hose Co. No. 2, 315 Second St. Refreshments will be served and all the kids will receive a halloween bag. Call 570-307-1690.
The Olyphant Crime Watch is sponsoring a Halloween “trunk or treat” Saturday, Oct. 26, 5-8 p.m. at the Monsignor Hrynuck/Joe Beckage park, Adams and E. Grant streets, Olyphant.
Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes, and families can decorate their car trunks and try for the “best trunk” award. All vehicles must be pre-registered to attend by Thursday, Oct. 24. Non-preregistered vehicles will not be allowed to enter the field. Candy and treats will be handed out to the first 200 kids.
There will be finger printing by the Olyphant Police and the Olyphant Crime Watch and firehouse trucks from Olyphant will be present.
The Mayfield Lions Club will hold its annual Halloween costume parade Sunday, Oct. 27. Participants (in costume) can begin gathering at noon at the Lions building at 615 Walnut St. The parade will step off at 1 p.m. and proceed to the Memorial Park. At the park there will be drawings for prizes. All costumed participants will be given candy bags as they leave the event.

The ladies auxiliary of Wozniak-Pavloski Veterans Of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 7963, American Legion Post No. 624, the Eynon Fire Department, and Ambrose Revels American Legion Post No. 328 are jointly sponsoring a Halloween party Sunday, Oct. 27, 2-4 p.m. at VFW Post No. 7963, 272 Main St. in Eynon. Refreshments will be served and each kid will receive a small treat.
The Dickson City Primitive Methodist Church, 516 Jackson Street in Dickson City, will holf a Halloween trick or treat event for kids Thursday, Oct. 31, 5:30-8 p.m. Refreshments, games and candy will be available.
