Lynnette’s Twirlerettes is celebrating its 31st season of baton twirling in Northeastern Pennsylvania
Classes in Carbondale, Forest City, Lake Ariel and Pittston begin in September. Beginners through advanced levels are offered.
Lynnette’s Twirlerettes hold numerous state, national and regional titles. They have traveled and performed extensively.
New for this year is an optional modeling/pageant training session, along with the opportunity to enter a local Miss Hemisphere Pageant.
Since 1983 more than 1,000 students have taken classes, and the group has donated more than $40,000 to local charities.
Students perform/participate at parades, picnics, traveling performances, recitals, competitions and twirling camps. All these activities are offered but are not mandatory.
Lynnette Lepre-Van Deusen, director, has 40 years of twirling experience, is licensed through the World Twirling Association, Drum Majorettes of America and Twirling Unlimited. She is a former Miss America preliminary contestant and judge. She is a former contestant, judge and regional director of the Miss Hemisphere pageant system. Lynnette also served as head coach for the Carbondale Area High School Marching Units.
