Father David J. Hritcko, pastor of St. Basil the Great Russian Orthodox Church in Simpson, was recently awarded the right to wear the mitre, one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a parish priest. During the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy, the mitre was bestowed on Hritcko by His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of New York and Eastern America, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Hritcko is now known as the Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest David J. Hritcko.
