The scheduled activities for the opening of the 2013-2014 school year Carbondale Area School District include:

Students are to report for classes on Tuesday, Aug 27 They will report directly to their assigned homerooms.

At Carbondale Area Elementary, students should be at their desks at 7:40 a.m.; School will be dismissed at 2:40 p.m.

At Carbondale Area High School, students should be at their desks at 8 a.m.; School will be dismissed at 3 p.m.

Any parent with a child residing in the Carbondale Area School District who has not yet registered is reminded that student registration should be completed prior to the start of the school year.

School offices are open 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. Parents must bring health and immunization records to the school in order to register.

Students are reminded to dress in accordance with the school uniform policy. All elementary students will receive a handbook on the first day of school. All High School students can view the handbook on the Carbondale Area website and parents are reminded to sign the confirmation page given to the students on the first day of school. Parents are encouraged to read the handbook and discuss the information with their child.

Cafeteria services will begin on the first day of school. The breakfast program is a universal free breakfast for all students. The cost of the school lunch is $1.95 for students who pay full price and 40 cents for those who qualify for a reduced price.
