Geography Bee

Valley View Middle School recently held its annual district championship portion of the National Geographic Bee. All students in grades six through eight took a written qualifying test which determined the 25 finalists who competed on stage in front of an audience of students, teachers and parents until two finalists were decided. In third place was seventh-grader Kyle Coulthard, son of Bob and Jennifer Coulthard of Jessup. The first-runner up was eighth-grader Hannah Yanoski, daughter of Ron Yanoski of Eynon and Terri Yanoski of Archbald. Eighth-grader Sean Oliver, son of Gary and Joanie Oliver of Eynon, was the winner of the competition. Other top finalists/competitors included Ronnie Yanoski, Nick Fiels, Ethan Carey, Jake Horeis, Alexa Kobrynich, John Redman, Eric Lee, Josh Rudolph, Nathan Wallace, Ryan Yencho, Dustin Fagnani, RJ Kilmer, Karly Powell, Ben Worrell, Tyler Vessel, Brandon Judge, Allison McGee, Matt Philbin, Michael Sebastianelli, Allie Giombetti, Emilia Dodd, and Dominic Clapper.
