Mackenzie Mauro, a sophomore at Carbondale Area High School who was a member of student council, was among the students who attended a leadership forum at Keystone College along with advisors Joanna Grizzanti and Angel Masco.

The purpose of the conference was to demonstrate leadership skills to the students. The main speaker was state Rep. Sid Kavulich.

“I learned that you are responsible for everything you do and don’t do,” Mauro said later. “I really enjoyed the informal way in which the ideas were presented. It gave me a real world perspective on government.”
