‘There Ought to Be a Law’

Valley View High School junior Matthew Jenkins (left) was selected as a winner in an essay contest entitled “There Ought to Be a Law,” sponsored by state Rep. Frank Farina. Jenkins’ essay was on stricter penalties for first-time “driving under the influence” offenses.

Jenkins is active in the National Honor Society, the math honor society, students against destructive decisions (SADD), Spanish club, table tennis club and stage crew.

Senior Jamie Wojciechowski was also selected as a winner. Wojciechowski’s essay urged the passage of legislation that would require animals to be restrained in moving vehicles.

Wojciechowski is active in the National Honor Society, math honor society, SADD and the peace club (president) and was also was on the tennis and basketball teams.
