The Greater Carbondale YMCA, 82 N. Main St., will host its fourth annual Christmas festival Saturday, Nov. 30. The evening kicks off with “Reindeer school” 4-4:45 p.m. and again 5-5:45 p.m. for kids in kindergarten through grade six who want to be one of Santa’s reindeer in the light parade later in the evening.

Santa and his elves will arrive at 5 p.m. and will pose for free photos. There will be a gingerbread house contest: All entries are $10 and gingerbread houses must be in by 5 p.m. on the day of the festival.

There will be crafts, carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, tattooing, an open swim, a bake sale and a basket raffle with more than 100 baskets donated from different vendors, businesses and members. At 7 p.m. the annual light parade steps off, led by Santa — and the reindeer from reindeer school. Call 570-282-2210 for more information.
