The Greater Scranton YMCA recently received a $16,666 contribution from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation (NPHCF) to support Chronic Disease Programs.
The programs at the Y being supported include LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a program for cancer survivors; Road to Wellness, a program for overweight or obese adults; diabetes prevention, a program for adults diagnosed with pre-diabetes; and Healthy Families/Happy Families, a program for families wishing to lead a healthier lifestyle together.
The program also made a donation to the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA.
“The Greater Scranton and Wilkes-Barre Family YMCAs cannot thank the Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation enough for their generous gifts to our Ys,” said Meghan Carnevale, senior director of mission advancement and marketing director. “Thanks to the foundation, we are able to offer these invaluable programs to those most in need.”
