Little League Meetings/Signups
• There will be signups for the Dickson City American Legion baseball programs Saturday, March 6, 1-3 p.m. at Master Kovaleski’s Karate USA, 802 Main St., in Dickson City. Registration is for all children ages 13-19 who reside in the Mid Valley School District. All players, new or returning, must bring a copy of their birth certificate and the $70 registration fee. • Dickson City girls softball will hold registration for the 2010 softball season Sunday, March 7, 1-4 p.m. at the Dickson City Civic Center, 935 Albert St., Dickson City. All girls from every town ages 6-18 are welcome. Call 383-7305 for more information.
• Carbino Club Little League will hold final baseball and softball registrations for the 2010 season Saturday, March 6, 1-3 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5544, 205 Dolph St., Jessup. All baseball players from within the Jessup, Blakely, Peckville, Sturges and Eynon area, ages 7-18, are eligible. Any players interested in Little League softball, ages 7-18, from areas within the District 32 boundaries that do not support a Little League softball team, are also eligible. Learn to Swim
Registration remains open for the Valley View Barra-Cougars learn to swim program’s 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. time slots. Classes are offered March 15 thru April 7. For more information visit www.barracougars.com or call 351-6003.
Civic Center Fitness
At the Dickson City Civic Center, 935 Albert St., Dickson City:
• Betsy’s Bootcamp: Mondays at 6:15 p.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m. Certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor runs this class is for all ages, from beginners to advanced athletes.
• Aerobics for seniors: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free.
• Jamie Valis, assistant tennis coach for Marywood University’s women’s tennis team, will begin teaching tennis class Tuesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. for a 12-week period beginning Tuesday, March 9. Pre-registration is requested and applications can be picked up at the center.

YMCA Fitness
At the Greater Carbondale YMCA, 82 N. Main St., Carbondale:
• Zumba-thon for Haiti: Friday, March 5, 6-9 p.m. in the gym facing Church Street. All proceeds will be used to purchase tents to shelter the victims of the quake.
• Aqua Jog: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-7:45 p.m. or 1-1:45 p.m.; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:15-10 a.m. This water workout supports the body and reduces the risk of muscle or joint injury.
• Pilates: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Main Street building. Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness.
• Basketball leagues: men’s Sunday basketball league games will be played Sundays at 5 p.m. Men’s basketball open league games will be played on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
• Volleyball: The YMCA is now accepting rosters for its upcoming volleyball league. The league runs on Thursday nights, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the cost of $5 for non-members; free for members. Teams can consist of up to eight players, with at least one woman on court.
At the Greater Scranton YMCA, 706 N. Blakely St., Dunmore:
• Easy Does It: designed for the “over 50” crowd. Builds cardiovascular system, strengthens muscles and improves flexibility. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:15-11:15 a.m.
• Silver Sneakers: fitness class of ages 65 and older. Increases muscular strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Tuesday and Thursday 10-11 a.m., Friday 9-10 a.m.
• Senior yoga stretch: taught from a seated and standing position. Improves flexibility and balance. Monday 9-9:45 a.m.
• Gymnastics. Pre-school class: Tuesday or Thursday 4:15-5 p.m. Beginner/intermediate class: Tuesday and Thursday 5:15-6:15 p.m. Advanced class: Tuesday and Thursday 5:15-6:15 p.m. Pre-team class: Tuesday and Thursday 6:15-8 p.m.
