All six students of Tiger Kai Karate, of the Spectrum Gym in Blakely, captured first place at the 2017 USBA/WBA Keystone State Breaking Championships, which were recently held at the Scott Township fire hall in Montdale.

Evan Hall set a new USBA/WBA competition record for ages 8-12 for a double-hand break by breaking 10 .5-inch-by-10-inch-by-12-inch boards. Michael Pilch set three competition records for ages 7 and younger using one-quarter adult size boards, with a double-hand four boards, a stomp break of four boards and a single-hand break of two boards.

Brad Prado, Cooper Rawlings and Christian Miller all took first place in creative breaking.
