Archbald Run/Walk

The 10th annual Archbald Borough 5K Run/Walk, with proceeds to benefit the Archbald Borough Veterans Monument Park, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12. Registration is 7:30-8:45 a.m.; race begins at 9 a.m. Registration will be $20. The run/walk will start and finish at the Archbald Borough building and will take place rain or shine. Age group awards will be given. Race applications are available at archbaldboroughpa.gov. Applications are also available at the Archbald Borough Building. Yoga for Healing

The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Hospice is offering a “Yoga for Healing” program. The program, taught by a professional yoga instructor, is designed to help participants increase flexibility; enhance strength; and improve concentration, posture, breathing and balance. This class is for beginners and those with a moderate yoga skill level. Classes are held every Tuesday, 6:15-7:45 p.m., at VNA’s office, 301 Delaware Ave. in Olyphant. The cost is $10 per session. The lakes and pool at Lackawanna County’s parks are open, staffed with lifeguards., 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, including Aylesworth Lake in Archbald and Merli-Sarnoski Lake in Carbondale. They will remain open through mid-August. Call 570-963-6764 for information.

DCCC Fitness
