Carbondale Area’s band and marching units, along with the cheerleaders, recently volunteered at a local department store’s grand opening. Gordman’s, 89 Brooklyn St., Carbondale, opened to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Gordman’s presented Carbondale Area with a check for $1,000.
Olivia Dietz, a senior and captain of Carbondale Area’s drill team, felt her time volunteering was well-worth it.
“All of the Gordman’s employees were very welcoming to all of our school community and made us feel very appreciated,” Dietz said. “They also allowed us to preview the merchandise. I was very impressed with what the store had to offer. I’d like to major in hospitality in college, so this was a good lead in to help me along that path.”
