Laura Comstock of Throop was the winner for the outstanding achievement award in foreign languages for 2019-20 in Arabic at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
The outstanding achievement award in foreign language goes to a graduating senior in each language who has excelled in the major and in all work at the university; has successfully participated in extra-curricular activities, and is recommended by the majority of faculty in the major language track.
The awards were to be presented at an end-of-semester awards ceremony that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kylee Bushta of Archbald was among the 31 University of Scranton students inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing. For induction into the honor society, students must have completed one half of the nursing curriculum, demonstrated ability in nursing, have a grade point average of 3.0 and rank in the upper one-third of the class. Bushta is a senior nursing major at the Jesuit university.
