■ James Cerminaro of Archbald competed as a member of the Golden Wolves football team during the 2019 season while studying management at Alvernia University. Cerminaro is a graduate of Valley View High School.
■ Marissa Bennici of Olyphant and Kassidy Chuff of Scott Township were named to the dean's list for the fall 2019 semester at Alvernia University.
Bennici is studying occupational therapy and is a graduate of Mid Valley Junior Senior High School.
Chuff is studying biochemistry and is a graduate of Lakeland Junior-Senior High School.
To be eligible for the dean's list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.
■ Emily Gerek of Carbondale was one of 10 students from the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences who attended the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey Primary Care Day. The annual event introduces students to primary care medicine and its specialties, internal medicine, pediatrics and family medicine.
In addition to a keynote speaker panels on medical school admissions, students had the opportunity to observe a delivery simulation and musculoskeletal and newborn exams. Workshops were held on suturing, vital signs and ultrasound imaging.
■ More than 1,900 students were named to the fall dean's list at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. A full-time student whose semester GPA is 3.5 or higher in 12 or more semester hours of course work for which a grade or grades are received will be named to the dean's list.

Delayne DePietro of Archbald was named to the fall dean's list at Cedar Crest College. The dean's list recognizes students who have earned a grade point average of 3.65 or higher in the academic semester.
Heather Peer of Dickson City was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. To earn placement on the dean's list, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 grade point average.
Abigail Mall, an accounting major from Simpson, was named to Geneva College's dean's list for the fall 2019 semester. To be eligible for this recognition, students in traditional programs must earn a GPA of at least 3.6 while passing 12 credit hours or more.
Aniya Sicovitch of Scott Township and Megan Wolfe of Mayfield were named to the fall dean's list at Mansfield University. To qualify, a student must attend the university full-time and earn at least a 3.5 GPA.
Slippery Rock University
Kathryn Eberhart of Archbald was named to Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania's dean's list for the fall 2019 semester. The dean's list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.
