'Unique Boutique' makes prom season more accessible

Shoppers browse more than 1,200 dresses at the Unique Boutique, an event hosted by Cinderella’s Closet of NEPA at Mid Valley’s Secondary Center on March 25. Formal dresses, shoes, purses, wraps and jewelry in a variety of styles were available for $10 or less. “Fairy godmothers” were on hand to provide support and to assist clients in selecting the perfect gown and choosing coordinating accessories.

The organization, which began as a provisional project of the Junior League of Scranton, is volunteer-driven and has provided thousands of affordable gowns to young women from across the region.
